How Much Editing Do You Need?
Editing time depends on the level of detail required.
Basic Editing
As a general guideline, editing takes at least as long as the recording session itself (e.g., a 2-hour session requires around 2 hours of editing for a well-balanced rough cut).
Advanced Editing
When every detail matters, we refine until perfection—ensuring that each element is as precise as you want.
In bar 8, the alto’s second sounds absolutely beautiful. In bars 3 and 4, the alto’s D should be much more prominent. In bar 4, if possible, a slight swell on the D note and a softer resolution on the C# would be great. The quartal suspension is a wonderful feature—it should be clearly audible. The same applies to bars 9 and 10, as well as 20 and 21. And of course, in bar 28, the alto has its grand final passage. This motif runs through the whole song, so it’s important that it stands out.—A.T.
We analyze each project and provide an estimated time after reviewing the material.
